The purpose of this site is to provide a tool for those looking to gain proficiency with Latin, and to do this, presents various Latin texts with a dictionary aid. Simply selecting an unknown word will populate the dictionary column (right) with an abundance of grammatical information. The dictionary aid will often not know which entry to show, so all possible matches will be displayed. To enhance this site to provide the exact dictionary entry would be a very difficult problem far beyond the ability of this site's creator. This problem would probably be a good candidate for a linguistics research project.

There are certainly many ways in which this site can be improved. If you can think of such a way, please send an email to webmaster[dot]splendorveritatis[at]gmail[dot]com. Some examples of improvements:

  • Bugs or inacurracies
  • Enhancement ideas
  • New texts to be added

The idea for this site was proposed to me by Paul B. from SJS, who I hope finds this useful. Special thanks, as always, to Richard M. for his great technical ability and support, as well as to Isaac, who provided helpful perspective from the world of Latin academia.
